Summer Games & Skate Jam

We're going for gold with the sporting fun this Olympic year! Join us on New Street Park for a day of free inclusive sports and activities to celebrate the spirit of the Games. Discover a new favourite sport, find a new team to join, or simply enjoy a day of getting active in the sun - come along and discover your new sporting talent!!

There will be lots of sports to try, local groups and clubs to explore including upbeat combat with FightKlub, Weight-lifting, Sailing (virtually!), Dance, Bowls, Rugby, Martial Arts, Hockey and Epee Fencing and lots lots more, plus sports day-style relay running races for younger visitors if they're feeling competitive. Our friends at Sport4Fitness will be on hand to provide opportunities to try lots of activities, assisted by the Emergency Service Cadets.

There will also be a chance to relax and enjoy garden games, board games and more static pursuits.

Daventry Skate Jam run by Team Rubicon will also be held at the Skate Park on the same day, so there really will be something for everyone!

Date: Saturday 3rd August 2024

Time: 11am-3pm

The day will include:

  • Children's Sports Day Fun
  • Sport-themed Craft Activities
  • Free Sports and Activities to try from many clubs and sport organisations
  • Skate Jam at skate park with Team Rubicon including coaching and competitions
  • Exhibits from local sports clubs and groups (see above)

If you'd like to share your sport, club, hobby or activity at the Daventry Summer Games by exhibiting at New Street park, we'd love to hear from you!

N.B. This is a free of charge event, although there may be a select few items available to purchase on the day. We aim to make the day as inclusive as possible for all ages and abilities, however this is an open air event and conditions will be subject to the weather, no alterations or modifications can be made to the ground surfaces and accessibility on the day will be at the discretion of each individual visiting the event.
