Daventry Town Council is saying 'Give Bees a Chance'

Everyone's talking about uncut, missed cuts, badly cut, never cut grass.

All we are doing is giving our flora, fauna and wildlife a chance to survive and thrive.

Working in partnership with Norse, Daventry Town Council is developing a strategy to preserve biodiversity and protect wildlife habitats.

'No Mow May' evidenced that by leaving the grass to grow, in certain areas of the Town, we can see a growth and dispersal of wildflowers, which in turn provides habitats and food sources for local wildlife and numerous species of insects.

To some it may look like careless grass cutting or council cost cutting, its quite the opposite, we are working hard to ensure the vast open green spaces within Daventry Town flourish and naturally seed, expanding year on year to provide a flourishing environment for pollinators and wildlife.

Conserving these grassy areas may present a change in appearance for some, but embracing this initiative, we can collectively contribute to the preservation of our unique natural heritage and ensure a healthier and more sustainable future for generations to come.

Daventry Town Council invites the community to support and embrace this new grounds maintenance strategy, to protect our local wildlife, preserve biodiversity, and enhance the beauty of our natural landscape.

When a flower doesn't bloom you fix the environment in which it grows not the flower.
