Celebrate the Season of Sport at Daventry Summer Games & Daventry Skate Jam

From Euro 2024 to the Olympic Games, this summer is a special one for sport. On Saturday 3rd August, the sporting fun comes to town with Daventry Summer Games and Daventry Skate Jam, two free events celebrating the community spirit of sport and the wellbeing benefits of getting active. Organised by Daventry Town Council, these free, family-friendly events will take place from 11am to 3pm on New Street Park, Daventry.

There will be a variety of free activities to try during Daventry Summer Games, including fencing, kickboxing, bowls, weights, fitness classes, hockey, archery and more. Offering plenty of fun and friendly competition, Sport4Fitness CIC will also be hosting inclusive sports day races throughout the day. Meanwhile, local clubs and groups will be giving demonstrations to impress and inspire with their talents.

As well as enjoying these free activities, visitors can also discover a new hobby or find a local club to join. Sports teams and organisations from the local area will be in attendance, promoting a range of sports and activities that are available in Daventry and further afield. There will even be garden and board games, a sailing boat to sit aboard and free facepainting to provide some R&R after all that exercise.

Continuing the summer fun, Daventry Skate Jam will be taking place alongside the Summer Games, with free coaching from Team Rubicon and friendly competitions. Skaters of all abilities are invited to bring their boards along to New Street Skate Park to learn new tricks and show off their skills.
