Enjoy a Delicious Day Out at Daventry Foodies Market This September

Saturday 7th September is a tasty date for the diary as it sees the return of Daventry Foodies Market to the town centre. Organised by Daventry Town Council, the market promises plenty of delicious food and drink, plus free entertainment for all the family.

Open from 10am to 3pm, Daventry Foodies Market will feature more than 60 stalls along High Street, Sheaf Street, Foundry Walk and Bowen Square. Visitors are encouraged to skip their big breakfast, as traders will be selling a vast and varied selection of goods, including street food and snacks to eat throughout the day. There will be sweet and savoury treats to take home, including delectable drinks like craft cider and gin, along with deli delights like cheese and chutney.

Shoppers can also browse a brilliant range of foodie gifts and kitchen accessories, many of which are handmade locally by independent traders. For younger marketgoers, there will be free entertainment courtesy of a face painter, balloon modeller and stilt walker, as well as food-themed crafting in the Daventry Town Council tent.

On the same day, Northampton Transport Heritage will be offering visitors free rides on their fleet of vintage buses as they follow historic routes through the town and surrounding villages as part of Daventry's Heritage Open Days.

Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture which takes place every September and this will be the third year that these historic buses have come to town and delighted residents and visitors. Daventry Museum will also be open from 10am to 4pm with a free event inspired by this year's Heritage Open Days theme 'Routes – Networks – Connections'.

Mayor of Daventry Cllr Karen Tweedale said: "I'm looking forward to welcoming so many brilliant traders to Daventry Foodies Market and seeing visitors sampling lots of delicious food and drink – and maybe trying a few treats myself. With Daventry Heritage Bus Rides taking place on the same day, plus Daventry Museum opening its doors for a free Heritage Open Days event, it promises to be a really great day out in Daventry."
