Playgrounds

The Town Council is responsible for 3 Play Areas in the town which are situated on the Recreation Grounds.

Norfolk Road PF

There are a large number of pieces of equipment. Whilst mainly aimed at the older age group, there are items for the younger element.

There are two sets of swings, one with cradle seats, roundabout suitable for wheelchair access, see-saw, climbing frame and much more.

In addition to the Play Area there is a Skate Ramp for the more adventurous. This is floodlit allowing use into the early evening.

Luynes Rise Play Area

This is attached to the Seth Ward Community Centre and has equipment aimed at the younger age group.

There are cradle swings, multi-play unit, springers, children's picnic table as well as a bench for the adults to sit and watch.

The area is fenced all round with self-closing gates at either entrance.

Hare Street Road PF

This is accessed from Snells Mead or Carter's Close. It is aimed at the middle age group with slides, swings, picnic tables as well as springers and balance trails.

The adjoining open field is ideal for the younger element to play ball games.
