What will Daventry and your community look like in 100 years time? Enter our competition and tell us what you think!

Daventry Town Council, Daventry Museum and Orbit Homes present a competition and event aimed at celebrating Daventry's past, present and future by burying a Time Capsule at the new Micklewell Park housing development.

When: The competition is open now until the closing date of Saturday 28th May 2022.

Where: Pick up your entry form from the museum or download it from the website here.

How: Drop your entry sheet into the museum or email it to projects@daventrytowncouncil.gov.uk. Winners will be announced in June.

Who: Open to children in Reception to Year 6.

Entry: It's free! If you're within the age range, enter the competition for your chance to win a staring role in burying the time capsule plus lots of goodies!

You can draw, write a newspaper report or a poem, do one element or all three, it's up to you, but you must give us some ideas of items you'd like to see put into the capsule. AND make sure you get your entry to us by the closing date of 28th May 2022.

Three winners will be selected from the submissions and the first prize winner will accompany a member of Orbit's site team to bury the time capsule at Micklewell Park, on Saturday 6th August. All three winners will print their hands in the slab above the capsule's location and receive a goody bag.

A display of entries, Micklewell Park plans, archaeological reports and diagrams will be held at Daventry Museum in August. Check the museum website for more details to come.
